Anyone use bolt patterns for different rims. Is it safe for your hubs? And do you need spacers and struts? I want to put my 18in chrome rims but theyre off by alittle of my hhr stock pattern

 

Have the wheels professionally re-drilled.. It's done quite often...

But need to make sure the off-set is right, before even buying them.

 

i had them from my old car. Trien to sell them but no luck, so i just learned about wheel adaptors. and thinking about putting them on my hhr. So how much does professionally redrilling them cost ya?

 

Prices vary by shops & states.. Look in the phone book for a custom rim shop. If they can't do it, they should be able to point ya in the right direction.

I'd be sure the off-set can be used on the hhr first.. Adding a spacer is not a biggie. But you don't want the tires slightly outside the fenders..

 

A spacer is one thing, because it can be of varying size. Typically, bolt pattern adapters are about an inch thick because they will essentially bolt on using your existing lugs/nuts...and have an alternate set with a different pattern. Therefore, your instantly one inch further out with the same offset due to the bolt pattern adapter.

You can measure the wheel from the mounting surface to the front lip, and then add the extra width of the adapter. Now measure that distance from the hub surface and that will be approximately how far it would stick out.
