Looks like the clips and caps are a mis-match for each other.

Maybe try some different clips.

I have to agree. I got the part numbers from another members thread who got it to work. But after looking at it again it does look like the clips are too tall

The clips are on backwards.

If you bend them around the way they are now, so that they latch onto the cap, you will never be able to get the cap back off without bending the heck out of them.

Wouldn't the mount hole be outside the cap

Have a look at Reroy's gallery, I beleive you just have to adjust the clips you have

Not if the screw is centered under the bendy part of the clip. /.\, not ./\

That's a really bad illustration!
