Blizzaks on sale at tire rack

I just noticed that the Tire Rack has Bridgestone Blizzak Revo 1 snow tires in the 215/55QR16 size for HHRs on sale at $66, marked down from $112. This is a good deal. I bought those for my HHR a few years ago and they are VERY good in the snow.

I know nobody wants to think about winter now, but they'll cost a lot more in the fall.

Thnx! GREAT input! Their 225/60s are on sale too, for $61, and I e-mailed them asking if they will fit an HHR and I doubt I will get a helpful answer but for these prices, it is hard not to become involved............

Tire Rack says they show 225/55 x 16 as the HHR's upsize, implying they will fit and that size is going for $60, less than the smaller size. They have no clue if the 60 series I want to try will fit but for $60 each for Blizzaks, getting four snowtires makes a lot of sense for a Michigan resident and will raise the car over a quarter inch, anyhow.......... Thnx MUCH fastsuv for this catch!!!!! .... I just now noticed that the 225 Blizzaks have a 13/32" tread depth and the more costly smaller 215s are 11/32". Different type but still a snow tire.

I want to reemphasize the difference in tread depths between the 215s and the 225s. 11/32" vs. 13/32" is significant and the 225s cost LESS! Mine shipped today and will arrive tomorrow for $37.xx shipping and NO sales tax! I will not mount them until near snow season. I looked at the HHR again and it looks like the 60 series might have rubbed at the rear of the rears. One size bigger will probably be as big as I/we can go. Now my mother-in-law is asking why I am buying new tires for a new car. I told her that the discount store was selling these 225s for $118 and now they are $60. She now understands and thinks maybe she needs some for her new car, too, before they run out of the discontinued sale tires............
