Cheapskate got some wheels and tires

Yup, I bought GDZHHR's Euromax wheels for $250, picked them up while I was over in his neck o the woods, and today picked up some 225/50ZR17 Hankook Optimos off Craigslist for $150- for 4 tires with less than 10k on them. No curb rash, no holes, look like new. Once I finish cleaning up the wheels, I'll be mounting them up using my handy Harbor Freight tire machine- best $40 I ever spent.

Now, just to find a good source for low-cost TPMS sensors.....

Here's the tires in the back of my Panel...

Along side the rear tire- they are roughly 1" taller than the stock 215/55R16's (duh)

Hope to have them on the car later this week.

Cool, look forward to seeing some pics of 'em on yer Panel..

Difference in height aka OD is only 0.55

215/55/16 = 25.31

225/50/17 = 25.86

Speedo will only be off approximately 1.3MPH at 60. Post up some pics when you get them on there

Hey Mongo, I saw a youtube video on the Harbor Freight tire changer. Have you used it on larger rims and lower aspect/profile tires (like the ones you just picked up or even larger?) It seems like it would be quite a task to try and mount or dismount a lower profile tire because of the additional stiffness in the sidewalls.

Great find! Hurry up and post pics. Quick question Mongo, what's the "E" stand for on the side of your panel?

Later

Not sure what it stands for but I'm pretty sure he said at our last meet that it wouldn't be there much longer.

Got home at 4:30, mounted up my tires, and by 6:30 I was taking pics.

BTW, these were about the easiest tires I've ever put on rims. Short sidewall was no problem for the Harbor Freight tire machine.

Those that were at the M&G may notice that the front bumper no longer has the nasty kink.

I used a heat gun and a screwdriver handle to work it back out.

They look good nut the chrome is loosening from the wheel even on the face. I'll run tem as-is this summer, then blast em and powdercoat over the winter.
