I just bought a set of Fierce Instinct VR tires (215/55R16). These are all-season performance tires that are made by Goodyear, like the Fusion brand that is made by Bridgestone.

After reading good reviews online from several car forums (including Saab and BMW) I went for a set.

After having them for a week, I can say that they have very good traction in both wet and dry. They are also pretty quiet. I have intentionally "pushed" the car hard in a few circumstances to test the tires.

The tires were $100 each total, including mounting, balancing and road hazard. I bought them from a local tires shop at their recommendation.

The only factor that I can't speak for is tire life. They do have a 50K mile warranty.
