I heard about these tires not lasting, not sure how true. I dont run mine in the winter or do burnouts so I didn't see it as an issue. mine will probably dry rot from age..
Frank- What do the date codes read ?? How old are those tires ?

I don't see a BOD on the outer sidewall, is it on the inner? I purchased them in Feb 2010.

Matters not when you purchased them, but when they were made.

Most tires now have the codes imprinted to the outside of tire.

But if you are not seeing them, they must be on the inside.. All street tires made for sale in the US must have a date code by law.

I also have 225/35/20. I went to a huge Goodyear dealer here in the Socal, and he told me that it is a rare size, He had to get them from the hub and it took three days. I think they are all be old LOL. Todd (Uma)

Some tire places think (for example) a 3 year old tire is still new, since it has not been used..

I don't think so.. Rubber begins drying out & eventually you have a hard dry old tire.

When I order tires for anything here, I insist they be no older than 1 year since made. Or I'll return them..

Just sayin..

Thanks for the updates. It's a death by 1000 cuts. You get nickle-dimed by so much stuff and then you wonder where your income went. I think I'll take my chances. I'm the only one that drives this car and I am pretty careful the way I toss it around. Love the new tires, haven't even tried them in the rain yet but they are pretty sticky on dry pavement. This car will see minor duty in the snow. I'm hoping the tire should hold up pretty well. At this rate, I'm averaging about 8K a year in mileage on it.

I have had the Eagle GTs on my car for a few months now and love the way they handle. Regardless of the tire I always buy the RH out here because the road upkeep is crap here. I have lost more than a few good tires (not repairable) to garbage in the road. So I have come out ahead with the RH. Though that may not be the case most places.

As for wear, my stock tires have dryrotted long before they hit the wear bars due to the El Paso heat. I would rather wear out a sticky performance tire than not get they full life from a longer wear tire.

I think Goodyear brought out thi GT with this thread pattern around 08, and I bought mine in 2010. I'm not concerned but you make a very valid point Sleeper, something I'll take into consideration on my next tire purchase. I'll look for that BOD when I take them off for the winter. I do have something stamped on my sidewall that we dont see enough of "MADE IN THE USA".

Date code on the GT's is on the outside (third oval after the DOT marker). Mine were 6 weeks old when I bought them.
