Leaky Wheels

Since day one, my two rear wheels lose 10-15 psi every week, and both right and left side lose the same amount. The front two never lose pressure, and almost never need adjustment. The rate of pressure loss is consistent for the rear wheels, and just so happens that I must add 10-15 psi every Sunday evening in preparation for the week ahead. Has anyone noticed the same problem with their SS wheels--especially front vs. rear? Even stranger... the wheels don't seem to lose much Monday through Friday, but when it sits for a day, then I notice a dramatic pressure loss. Any thoughts, fellow SS brethren?

I don't own an SS but if you want to find the leak then put a little dish soap in a spray bottle with water and spray the tires down. Wherever the bubbles are will be will be where the trouble lies.

Sounds like a leak with the valve stem or tire bead.

Take it to the dealer and have them check them. There is not reason you need to add air weekly.

It should be a simple fix and it will give you time to take in the House marathon on USA network on Sunday nights.

I have type same problem, only my loss is not that dramatic. I lose 3 to 5 psi about every week and a half to two weeks. My solution, I have a tire pressure inflator in the SS, which I use when needed. In fact last night, I had to do before I left work for the drive home. and yes they are my rear tires also, especially the right rear.
Although we have this problem also keep in mind that with the change in temps, there is also a change in tire pressure, all the more reason we should all check our pressure every week or two. For every 10 degree change in the weather, you will either lose or gain 1 psi. When the temps go down, so does your pressure, and when the temps go up, your pressure increases.

My thoughts exactly, probably the bead or stem, one day will go to the dealer or tire store to get corrected.....not a big issue, just annoying!!!!

IF it was one tire I sould see a nail but you may have gotten two bad stems formt he factory. The machine that day may have left two lose.

Also you don't have any small children around who play with valve stems? I have seen this happen too.

Other than temperature changes the causes of air loss in tires is.....

Bad/faulty valve stems...

Poor tire to wheel mounting practices.......

Unknown tire defect........

Alloy wheel porosity....

But as others have suggested, take it to the dealer if under warranty.

Dealer that replaced my bad TPMS indicated that they'd recently replaced a couple of factory alloy wheels (not on HHR's) due to a porosity problem near the beads. Since OP and others have more than one leaking down, after they got TPMS's replaced, if it didn't go away, I'd push for replacement wheels.
