Hm.... My Gabriel Quick Strut assemblies actually firmed up my suspension. What brand did you use? I have stock FE1 suspension but with the new ones I believe they are colser to FE3 in feel. The ride is firm and precise, but not jarring. I also have the TTR Rear sway bar which helps too.

 

I'll have to peak and check out what brand they are. They were on the car when I bought it, so I am not sure, I just saw the sticker so I know they are replacements.
