Need help I want to get 20s on my hhr

So I know the bolt pattern for the hhr is 5x110 however the 20s I want have a bolt pattern of 5x114 I just want to clarify these will work using a spacer?? And also what tire size would be to big or to wide to get? Thanks

They should work if you get adapters.

Keep in mind that these are basically 1" spacers as well so you want to get the correct offset depending on how you want them to sit (flush/poking/etc).

You're actually talking about an adapter rather than a spacer. 20s are difficult enough to run on an HHR and adding adapters would make it more difficult because they have to be thick enough to accomodate both bolt patterns. That would move the wheel farther outward which creates other problems as well as questionable safety. My advice would be to find rims that actually fit the vehicle......both in bolt pattern and size.

I've never been a fan of adapters. Seen too many horror stories on them. But if your set to go that route, find a high quality one. Don't cheap out. As stated already, 20"s on an HHR is hard on the car as is, adding adapters just increases that.

As far as size, about 26" is still the limit on height. Width will depend on the offset of the wheel you install.

Essentially, you'll be running 5 additional lugs/studs on each wheel on a 1" spacer.

I'm running spacers, but I am using wheels with the same 5x110 pattern, they just have a different offset, have had no problems, I am running 255's on 8" rims, and 245's on the 7.5" wheels. At a point of 15mm pushing the tire out will cause it to touch the wheel liners, I don't think you will get 20's, and 1" adapter to swing with out touching, but best way to know is to mount one up and try it. I have seen things that the math said wouldn't work, work fine upon trying it....Like a set of 235x45x18 on a SS, it should have been too tall, but they fit fine, Banshee is running around on them now.

That's a 26.3" tire. How much room from the strut plate do you have?

I was going to run 245's on my 7.5" wheels but everything I read online said that it wasn't a good idea idea. The biggest problem was in the wear of the tire...and if I'm spending over $600 for a set of tires I've got to be able to get every mile I can out of them.

I'm running 245's on a 7" wheel....... My last rotation they measured them at 9/32 (10/32 originally). Not too bad after 18K miles.....

I researched specifically my size...245/45/17's. Not sure what you are running in the 18's...maybe the overall width is different? Wheel numbers are not my thing...that's why I rely on the discount tire calculator.
