New boots for the ride.

After 38,800 miles it was time to replace the awful Firehawk GTA rim protectors that came with my HHR.The fronts were down to the wear bars and were severely hydroplaning in the wet at freeway speeds(definitely made for loads of unwanted excitement). My replacement tire choice is the Continental Extreme Contact DWS.Probably overkill for the type of car it is but I'd rather have good tires than junky tires. They were installed yesterday and now there's no more low traction light coming on because of tire slippage and the car seems much more controllable under all circumstances.
My questions-has anyone in the HHR community(especially in snow belt states) run these tires for a full 4 seasons yet?How do you like them after a year or more?

Tony- I believe Hillsdale has the Conti DWS tires on for a while now.. & he is in the snow belt..

I've only heard good stuff about them. Maybe a bit noisier on dry roads. But no personal experience wit them..

I got them to hydroplane , but it really does rain here I was going down freeway at 70, in two inch ruts full but that happens all the time. I traded them in on Eagle F1's worked great, even snow and ice. But they bit the dust, belt separation at 17,000 miles, so I wouldn't suggest them either even though they worked great. I'm riding on General Gmax 03's and they are the smoothest riding yet. Work great in the rain, but we have seen no snow, and it's ok with me if we never do.
