I just had some Goodyear eagle GT's put on before I went on Vacation.
On the return trip I was in the Mountains of Tenn, and a Torrential rain and wind gusts came up quickly. Cars were hydroplaning and spinning..I did a hard dive to miss the action, and the Goodyears held the road.
Good Ride
Quite
Bite in the turns
Excellent on water.

I debated between the Continental DWS, Michelin Primacy, and Sumitomo HTR A/S and a couple of others. All rated favorably by Tire rack and others. I had decided to go with the Michelin when I found I could buy the Sumitomos for $500 out the door. This is considerably less than the Michelins so I took the chance. So far I'm impressed. Though they have a W rating which I don't need, they ride better than the Firestone GTAs. They are quiet, smooth riding in both smoothering bumps and not vibrating at speed. Handle well and seem to go thru downpours fine. Hoping long term they don't disappoint, but two thumbs up so far. 215/50/17

I got some new wheels and tires last week and ended up going with the Hankook Ventus v12 in 225/50/17 ($106 ea, Tire Rack). I am impressed with the grip and the ride quality is great. Very quiet and smooth. They grip way better than my Good Year Assurance tires on my stock 16" wheels, but now my e-brake won't keep my car in place when I'm doing burnouts

Thumbs up so far on the Hankook Ventus V2 Concepts, they have some serious grip, wet and dry.

Just come across town in a monsoon and the Hankooks stuck to the road like glue, I'm very impressed with this tire so far.

I just got a new set of Firestone wide Oval A/S's on my '07 LT. at first I was going to go with Bridgestone Potenzas but they didn't have them in the right size. The guy then suggested other Firestones ( I forget which but the reviews sucked), I told him the reviews were bad, so he suggested the Wide Oval AS. They are performance tires. I think the "AS" -- "all season" version is new on the market. I didn't find much of any reviews out there, but the regular Wide Ovals get very solid reviews for dry conditions. So far I find them to be a smooth ride, excellent handling and good in rain. These might be a nice option for those looking for an affordable performance tire with some all season capability. We'll see how they hold up to the rigors of NJ winter!

Has anyone tried the Vogue 215/50 r17 with the white sidewall and gold stripe? super looking tire ( oh vogue, make that tyre), but I have no idea if they ride or handle well.

Put Michelin Hydroedge on mine and love them. Highly recommended.
