I have had the Bridgestones for about 9k miles and just went through the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado and they have really lived up to my expectations. Going on to Hill City, S.D. in the morning.

Now have a little over 53k on the HHR in 26 months and the only problem has been the intermittent problems with the USB. On this trip I have played through the 300 song one and now deep into one of the 1100 song ones with no dropouts at all. Go figure.

Going over to Costco today to order Michelin Primacy MXV4's....215/50/17
I was looking for a long-wearing tire that's good in the wet.

Found 843's thread. Makes me question the Michelins...I was told they would be excellent in the rain, which I need, much more than being good in the slush. Maybe the Conti ProContact....but I'll have to go to a different dealer.

Ordered Continental Conti ProContact 91H's - 60k tread wear warranty.
Turned out to about $100 more that the Michelins with the road hazard warranty. They'll be in in 3-5 days.

I've had good experience with Continentals- have some on the wife's Explorer right now. Had some on a Toyota P/U we had back in the early 80's. They seemed to last forever.

I'm with tim tenn...Michelin Hydro Edge stick like glue, a good price/tire & have a high mileage wear garantee. Stones may stick in the center tread, but not a problem when cleaned out.

Right after I got the Bridgestones I was driving about 70 and topped a small bridge that was slightly elevated and right at the top the water had accumulated from the light rain and I felt the tires when they hit the water but had no problems with stability at all.

They are rated AA A.

They were a little costly at $210 each but from the ride and that incident I think worth the price.

Don't know about the snow as we get vary little here south of Houston.(Did have 11" in 8 hours on 12-24-04.)

That's what my 2007 had on it when I bought it a few weeks ago...too early to tell on how they are. However, the car was owned by the dealer's parts manager and he drove it every day for 4 years in CT (last winter was bad here)...I have a feeling they worked well.

Looked up the Michelin Hydroedge....
Not available in the stock 17" HHR size (215/50)...you would have to go with a 205/55 or something like that.

Got the Continentals installed today.
I'll report on them after the first rotation....
No fuss, no muss with Americas Tire / Discount Tire.
