New wheels, new studs, old wheels?

I've read several other threads on this but my question has not been answered so I will start my own. ALSO, thanks ahead of time! So here is my question and situation. I am looking to put the chrome saturn sky rims on my hhr. I understand they have a offset of 55 & my current rims are 42. I understand I will need spacers and longer studs to keep the stock offset. My concern is that when I put my stock rims with blizzaks back on for the winter that the studs will then be too long for my lugs. My stocks are the chrome 5 spoke 16". Is there something I can do to solve this issue? I don't want to change studs twice a year. If this is the only option I would rather keep shopping for rims with the proper offset.

You don't have to change them, your wheels will just stick out further.

You actually don't have to install the spacers, but the Sky wheel will sit in further without.

Yeah, worst case would be you'd have to buy 20 open (vs. Acorn) lugnuts. I have done that before. It's still worth it for the summer time fun, IMO. It's not a huge deal.

As I think about this, you'll probably want to remove the spacers and get open lug nuts. I think that's the short answer.
