Ok,
I've been looking for the right kind of rims for my HHR and have hit a strange roadblock. I can't tell if dealers are putting older year rims on new HHR's as an option.

From what I've seen aside from OEM there are basically 4 common routes with rim choices (of course your experience may vary):

retrotastic (moon rims, smoothies, thrusters, etc)
rub a dub dub (lots of chrome (or black), no sidewall, and no void space)
DTM/Rallye (yes with an 'e', these are multispoke 'tarmac' rims, also mesh, white and bronze come to mind, as does a red lip on black)
star pattern in various blends.

But if you stick to OEM (and just the HHR, as I know taking rims from other GM models is popular), since the HHR has been around for a while, what are the styles, with pictures, from the different years (leaving out the plastic caps)?

16" Machined finish. 06 model and used for most of the 07 models as well.

 

17" Smoked Chrome premier edition 2006


2006 17" come in silver and chrome

 

Those are 17". There was a rare 18" double spoke option on the 06, but I never saw them on a vehicle.

Only one that I see, 16" steel wheel.

I believe the ones shown above on the charcoal HHR are in error or that is a typo. I believe they are the '09 17" chrome clad rims that come on the 2LT. At least, they are dead ringers for the ones on my car. The giveaway is the line down the center of the spokes. Yes, mine are 17's as I just put tires on them.....and they were 17's as well.

Those look like the same wheel the 06 Spring Edition came with, which were 16". I heard they were and just changed the center caps. But it would not suprise me that had something similiar in a 17", but cladding? Nothing but a plastic hub cap....
