OEM wheels frustration and confusion
here's my update.
there was a real iffy moment putting one on where it was leaking, and we figured it was a screwed up bead. i went home, and it was near flat two hours later. well, i went to buy a new tire, and the kid who was switching it was conscientious and tried to find the problem with the practically new tire he was to replace, and found the rim had a gouge on the inside running towards the lip, and he threw some bead sealer onto it, and i it seems fine, now.
so, now, i need to get rims for my summer tires, 'cause i ain't taking any chances by swapping again.
the stamp on the inside of the OEM rim is 17X6.5, and the bolt pattern is 5X110, so, jay, i don't see how 17.7 and 5x110/5X112 can be OEM although i'm just learning about this stuff so don't be mad if i'm being an idiot.
5X112 will not fit, right? it MUST be 5X110 right?
and, if you don't want hub centering rings, you need to buy rims with the hub bore 65.1, right?

i guess you have ten holes in your rims, jay? 5X110 (the ones we use) and 5X112(for other cars).
that's not Original Equipment Manufacturer size, which is simply 5X110, 65.1 hub bore, 17X6.5 rim, offset +42mm.

Well thanks, I was just wondering about rim sizes myself. I just put my winter tires on the stock alloy 16" rims just to give me an excuse to shop for some rims and tires this spring. I may go to a 17 x 7 rim for 235 tires. I don't think I want to go any smaller sidewall than a 50 series tire though, so I my go with a 225 tire. Now to find some nice classic looking chrome rims.
i like!, you are going to need a front end alignment also. I know this because my son took out 2 front wheels on 2 different events, before he took out all 4 wheels and the rest of the underneath of the vehicle.
