Question - 16x6.5 vs. 16x7

Didn't find this in search - quick question - I have stock 16" wheels and covers on my 2010 LS, which I believe are 16x6.5. I'm looking at a new set of Pontiac G6 rims that are 16x7 (and 5x110), with no tires.

Can I have my stock 16x6.5 Firestone tires put onto those 16x7 rims, even though they are 1/2 inch wider? Issues?

And, if so, because of the tire pressure sensors, should I have that done at the dealer, or can any shop do it?

Thanks a lot.

No problem with the added 1/2 width. Any real shop can change the tires and probably better than the dealer. Check the offset of the new wheels to see if the clear the inside of the suspension .

Thanks for answering that.

New question, the 16" rims I'm looking at (from a Pontiac G6) don't have center caps. Can you take a look at the rim type using the URL below, and tell me if there's a cheaper alternative than buying a $30+ set of 4 Pontiac caps? Will any caps for 16" wheels fit? Thanks again.
