Received My New Smoked Chrome Wheels - Not Happy

Received My New Smoked Chrome Wheels today and am really confused.

I swear that the new ones are plastic on the outside where the old ones were real chrome or aluminum chrome plated. These appear to be sort of a hubcap attached to the wheel.

I called the dealer and am bringing it in tomorrow. He says he just can't believe it and for the price it should be metal.

Anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Working at a dealership I see this a lot. The Equinox and Malibu also have plastic covers over steel or aluminum wheels. The nice part is if you get curb rash you can replace just the plastic cover and not the whole wheel.

Some Fords had that also It make the wheel heavy and a pain to clean any mud out that may get in there

Can any of you confirm that your original wheels are chrome, not plastic? I am meeting with the dealership today.
