I hate to be a bigot, but those sound like generic Korean tires. I have personal experience with PrimeWell, which is a cheap generic in-house tire. They dry rotted fast, loud, and just all around sketchy.

My cousin, has had THIS experience with his dodgy unknown tire type... it may be one of the brand you are listing.

The Nexens seem to have overall positive reviews. So did the PrimeWells...

I have a set of Nexen 3000. For sale they have alot of life left. They did great on both my 2LT and my SS. size 235/40/18

I have ran Riken Raptor Zr's on my G6, and my friend had em on his GTI. They're not bad tires at all in my book and seem to actually last. They're a heavy tire as well.
