Tire Options
Interesting note the HHR on 17" steelies and X-Ice tires is excellent in the snow.
The FK452's tread wear is around 300 so not too bad and should last the test.
Why the hate on Falken's? Ive had a set of Azenis for my auto x car for a while and they seem to wear very well. We switched to RA-1s a few years ago but for the life that they gave us (probably 14 events w/around 30 runs/event before cording) they weren't a bad tire.

I'm still debating, leaning towards the Falkens in anycase.
Question is do I need them? I checked last night and I have around 2mm to go before the wear bars but I remember last year towards the end of the fall any rain made it squirrily as all hell.
Just a consensus is it time? My price installed/balanced is $217 a corner so not really chump change.

i have the Nitto NT555 as well, 245/40R18, and i got them installed and balanced, plus an alignment for $800. almost a week after getting them on we got a crazy freak rainstorm, and they did just fine, even without hardly any wear yet (still a touch of the stuff they put in the mold to get them to release easily on them, so a little slick). no complaints, and they tolerate my GMS1 just fine. i rub just a tad at full lock with the 245s, but that's likely because i am on GoldLines. haven't read about anyone else rubbing 245s when stock height on an SS.
I had my Lancer's Hancook Ventus v4 tires moved to my SS when I got it. Still had the original michellins on it and they were pretty beat. Been very happy with my Hancooks so far on both cars. Quite grippy, 50k warranty.
They are less grippy than the Goodyear Eagle GTs, which I loved...but those were also known as "Goodforayear"s on the mitsubishi forums I used to frequent.
