Tire Questions
I recently got me some new wheels and have been trying to decide what brand of tires to get, The rims are 18's probably going with 225 size. What do you guys recommend?
Also, I need to replace the pirelli's on my wifes 2006 Cobalt SS Sedan, her's are the polished 17's. Also need recommendations for hers.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just put on a set of Cobalt SS/SC 18. They had a fairly new set of Nexen 5000's. Never ran them before, but I can say that they handle very well on wet or dry roads.

firestone
i like the firestone gta's that came on mine. i know that some don't.-like them, but i don't know why. i know that mine still have some tread after over 50000 miles , i still need to check how many they are rated for and where and if i can get them prorated for new ones. i have driven in rain and snow with no problem. i can barely get them to spin when dry ,-maybe i need tuneup , mamabe not. they do not seem loud to me. i may get a tire that rides a little softer , but i am sure if i did, it would not handle as well. i just think mine should be taller. there was a reason why they put them on from the factory. it could be some kind of deal with firestone that they could not get with anouther company. or it could be because gm thinks it was a good tire. i will be pricing some new ones soon , since they are very close to the wear bar.

Your info says you live in Colorado so I'd suggest the Goodyear Eagle F1 AS. Imagine this tire as a crossbreed of the famed F1 GS-D3 with the Assurance TripleTred. It has some of the snow and ice performance of the Assurance, mixed with the wet and dry performance of the F1 GS-D3.
I've been running the F1 AS on my HHR for about 18 months and they've worked pretty well.
