I'm looking for tires to make fat white walls on my 16'' rims and i'm wondering if i should get the 65 or 70 size (height) . Do you think the 70's will rub since i also wanna drop my suspension 2 '' ?

yes.

60's almost rub on the strut. The lower spring mount on the strut is the limiting item, not lowering the car.

There is a maximum height of the tire allowed. I don't remember what it is. The distance from the center of the hub to the bottom of the lower spring support is the important measurement, you don't change that by "lowering".

I run 215/60 X 16 on mine. There is evidence that the tire touches the spring mount. a 65 would stand higher and probably really rub.

 

Tire height 26.2 inches is the limit to clear the spring perch in the front strut.

As stated above, dropping 1.5-2 inches doesn't factor in. It's the clearance of the lower strut plate that's the factor. That clearance issue remains the same dropped or not. A 26.2 inch tire is about as tall as will fit.

Fwiw. A 195/65/16 is about 25.98 inches
A 205/60/16 is about 26.16 inches
This is the tallest you can go with a 65 or 60 series tire.
I would go with the 60 series. 65's are just too skinny and have less of a road contact spot.

FWIW: I am running 205X60RX16 Michelin Ice3 on mine with no problems.

They ride a little softer as well but part of that is probably the different compounding for Ice and Snow.

Running 32PSI in the front and 30PSI in the rear COLD.

Different tire manufactures Specs can be different for the same size tire so be sure to check the specs on the Brand and Grade tire you choose.

I assume you are using the stock steel wheels ??
