Question Tire Suggestions

So I have my eye on a new set of rims for Agent Orange and need some input for some really good 3 season tires (225/45-18). I figure I still have a couple of months so.............

I have continental extreme DWS on my stock wheels for the winter. It just snowed here and they worked awesome in my opinion. They get great ratings on tire rack.

Todd, not too worried about snow performance with the tires as they will only be on from Spring through Fall. I will be sticking a set of winter tires on my stock rims when the white stuff flies next year.

I notice they also have the Extreme Contact DW and since I'm not concerned about using them in the snowy months might consider these. If I remember right my Crossfire ran Continentals and they were great tires.

Have you done any research on Hancook tires yet? Dorothy has them on her car and they are a really decent tire.

Hills....

You considering M&S (like stock) tires or performance tires (which MAY be quiet and stick like glue)?

Stay away from directional tires if possible. I had a set of Goodyear TripleTreads on my HHR. Great tire for the first 20,000 miles then they went down hill. Rotated them on a regular basis (ever 5,000 miles), but could not cross rotate (only front to back). Tires started to feather on the edges of all the tires. At around 34,000 miles the road noise went up drastically (to the point of purely annoying) and wet weather traction started to fade. At 36,000 miles, I contacted Goodyear and went to local dealer about the issue - tire supposedly had an 80,000 mile tread life. Goodyear offered me a reimbursement of $69 a tire if I put Goodyear, Dunlop, or Kelly tires back on my HHR. I now have a set of Dunlop Signature tire. Happy so far - quiet, nice ride, dry/wet traction great, and snow traction better than the TripleTread had gotten (we just had 4” of snow tonight). Good luck on your decision.

If I decide to go with new rims then I would be looking for a set of peformance tires
