TPMS aftermarket or OEM? air pressure readers
Looking a set of tires for winter and a separate set for summer (8 wheels) The price variance for tire pressure monitors is unbelievable. From $4 each to $153 each. What have you had good luck with as far as aftermarket sensors? ebay has 4 OEM's for $53 , not a bad price, but I cant understand the huge price difference. Tell me what works, or more importantly which ones dont work, as in dont waste your time. I have some time, were putting the winter tires on the original wheels this week and I'll need the summer set sometime in April.
Thanks

The battery is what wears out, so used would not be a good idea. The battery has a 10 year shelf life. Buying from China is much cheaper, but shipping time is much longer and warranty may be troublesome.
As long as they are on the correct frequency it shouldn't make much difference. I think they are 315 MHz, but check me.
I don't see any $4 parts on eBay except the stem kits. $16 each seems good.

FWIW, After some research, I replaced all four of my sensors in September with VDO SE10001HP REDI-Sensor 314.9 MHz/315 MHz TPMS. The owner of the tire place I do business with was suspect given they weren't OEM. He said he wouldn't guarantee the sensors would work, but they synced right up after installation. Amazon sells them in sets of two for $53 with free shipping.
