Wheel choice?

I have ran across two sets of wheels and been thinking maybe to get one set.

Set 1- Stock 2LT 17" polished alloys with tires, tires have 70% tread or better on them. Should be able to get them for about $550 shipped.

Set 2- Stock Cobalt 18" polished alloys, no tires. Might be able to swing those for about $300 shipped.
Example photo. Not the actual ones I'm looking at.....

I do not need tires at the moment, I just rolled 30K and still have plenty of tread left. But starting to look and ran across these two options. Neither may play out. But deciding if Imay want to look into these or just wait and buy aftermarket 18" when I do need tires.

There is a 3rd option, might be able to swing a set of 18" split spoke alloys, no tires, for about $400 shipped.

Optnions?

Opinions??

Shoot, soleman, everyone's tastes, needs and budgets are different.

But, since you asked, my opinion is that if you have to ask, don't do it!!

Figure out what you want and can afford, then just do it!!

I absolutely cringe when people ask others what to do because they are not sure themselves. The worst is when someone starts a poll. No offense, but do you (or anyone!) really want to decide what will please you based upon other's opinions, that could easily differ from your own?

Read, research, decide what you want, then find your own solution. For wheels, just make sure that they are the right bolt pattern and are at least close to the standard 42 mm offset, realizing that any variance could create clearance issues.

Good luck!!

After seening the wheels on yours, I realize the SS wheels I saw, were not SS wheels. But listed as optional 18" split spoke wheels for the HHR. hummmmm Similiar, not not quite the same.

Granted, and the final decision will of course be mine. But, hearing other's inputs are helpful. But thank for the advise.

I, myself, really like the look of the 18 inch Cobalt SS wheels. I especially like the gunmetal, dark silver ones. I'm trying to find a set of these to purchase.

I'm not a big fan of the 18 inch polished alloy wheels on the Cobalt. If I'm thinking of the right ones. Are these the ones that "fork" at the wheel edge and have the "fastener" detail?

I've seen those so I know which ones you are talking about. Still waiting on the photo's of the wheels, supposed to get them this afternoon. But I think these are the standard 18" for the Cobalt SS/SC. They look just like the gunmetal ones, just polished. I've seen the "forked" ones on EBay. Those are different.

I do like the style of the 18 inch Cobalt wheels you posted. Those are the ones that I am looking for but not the polished finish. I really like the look of the "larger dish" or center section (for lack of knowing the real term.)

Same here, I thought at one time about the gunmetal ones also. But not sure how they would look with the chrome package and the DBM. I always like the Cobalt ones also. The "center hub" I think it's called is definately larger than the HHR ones. Looks like I will be getting the 18" Cobalt ones, the deal was even sweeter than I though. I finally got the pics yesterday, they had tires already on then with 60%+ tread left, he is adding those for additional $50....., I think it's a no brainer. I will be picking them up tomorrow in Chattanooga. Definatley rather make a 3 hr round trip than pay shipping.

Yeah, shipping is a killer. That's why it's hard for me to find a good deal on wheels. The deals are out there but shipping from the US to Canada destroys any sort of bargain basement price. There isn't very much on sale up here. I did find one set for $650 up here with about 50% tread left and the guy is only about 45 minutes away. If I wasn't going to Vegas in Feb I would buy those right away but I want to keep every extra dollar I have for some gambling fun.

Enjoy the new rims.
