winter tires
...and that's because you live in Alberta.....lol
...............Just kidding of course. I will be putting mine on around November, and taking them off in February. Its usually Remembrance day to Valentine's day here on the coast. Unless the weather changes earlier. (I think we are gonna have a nasty winter here this year....)
I'm just glad our HHR came with a good set of snows on the side.
Cheers.

i wrote somewhere earlier, just acquired 5x110 midhole 65mm steel wheels that are from modern Opel (easier to get over here), put 205/55/16 Nokian spike tires on them. thats currently the cheapest size since most of euro cars use that size. looks slightly small under hhr.
today was first day freezing this fall. but we are safe since our hhr came with old mid-european sort all-around m+s, semi-winter pirellis traction tires. no actual winter yet. usually i replace spikes with summer tires March-April.

Checked the Dealer today. We tried the 17" steelies over the Brembo brakes. Very close but not quite. They will rub the calipers. Has anyone else had this problem yet?
thats weird because from previous threads on here , people have said the 17 or 18 steel rims cleared the brembox..which 17 did you try? i may be wrong, but arent there 2 types of steels for this car?
