Would these fit?
Would these fit?
My guy was looking at rims for his his car he is picking up this weekend (soltice GXP) and tirerack had a ton of clearence rims. However when I search under HHR SS it doesn't show any clearence rims.
Can anyone tell me if they would fit or what would need to be done to make them fit?

Nope no brembo's here. Okay here is the silly girl question from me. I have heard of spacers but how do you figure out if you need them and what size or would the place mounting the tires be able to do this for me?
I am running Solstice wheels on my HHR. They are 18 x 8, and I had to shim out 7mm to clear the struts and brake calipers. I took flat washers at first to space it out, then measured the thickness of the flat washers then ordered spacers. Hope this helps.
Best is to test fit them, or leave sufficient room to make sure. There are plenty of posts on here of people with different combinations that worked.
The first one has an offset I don't recommend personally. The second one is closer to stock offset and is the style of wheel I want to get (i.e. - 18", black spokes, machined lip or visa versa). The prices are fantastic.
No they will NOT fit!
You can put them on the back with spacers but it will rub the inner fender well on bumps.
They will NOT fit at all on the front with any kind of spacers, the tires hit hard on the bottom of the strut.
I bought a set of Solstice wheels and tires for my car and they would not fit. The biggest trie you can run on the front is 225-45-18 and you will have to use spacers. That leaves you less than 1/4 inch clearance but works and looks quite nice. Really does not matter if you lower or raise the car the distance from the axle to the bottom of the strut is the same and it is there it is hitting.

I have and HHR SS and run Solstice aftermarket wheels with a 50mm offset, 15mm spacers on the front (I have Brembos), NO spacers on the rear and run 245/40-18 tires all the way around on a HHR SS.
They do not rub on the front, rear, bottom out or hit anything under the car. The tires on the front don't stick out, they are under the fender wells.
I've had the rims and tires on for 3k miles now.
If you find my post about me putting the wheels on I tell you exactly what was needed, I did use after market extended ARP wheel studs, but I'm using 15mm spacers (could have gotten away with 12mm, but to close for my liking) to clear the Brembos.
My suggestion is to use 245/40-18's if your doing this on a HHR SS, might as well put the biggest tire on there that will fit and clear everything for more traction.
In the end it will be far easier for you to buy rims that already fit, especially if you don't know anything about wheels. The only reason I have the Solstice aftermarket wheels is because they are $400/ea rims I got for $ (125/ea on close out. I wanted super light weight wheels at the time and the only choices were these (SSR Type-C RS) or OZ Ultraleggras. So in my case it was well worth it to get what I got and saved a bunch of money in the process.
