2009 HHR 2LT vs my (former) 2003 PT Cruiser GT

Better in HHR:
  • noise level
  • ride smoothness
    gas mileage
  • depth of storage area
  • steering wheel thickness/grip
  • driver information center
  • power driver seat
  • auto lights and rearview mirror dimmer
  • gas mileage
  • access to engine

Better in the old PT
  • Softer leather seat
  • Perforated leather seats (avoids sweaty backs)
  • Number and location of cup holders
  • built-in coin holder
  • More storage in door panels
  • length of arm rests (they stick far enough forward to rest more than an elboq tip on them)
  • Location of dead pedal (wider and straighter than HHR's)
  • height of cargo area (six inches higher ceiling clearance)
  • availability of PT toys
  • rear seats flip up and come out

I liked the PT Cruiser when they came out. Believe it or not I didnt like the HHR. After driving both though - I like the HHR. I like some styling pieces on the PT, and some on the HHR. I like the HHR front end better - but I want to change the taillights (I don't like them on either car - though I prefer the amber turn signals on the PT). I like the tilt and removal seats in the PT - I like the hard plastic cargo area of the HHR. I like the tall greenhouse/black pillars of the PT but I also like the chopped top of the HHR. I like the the underfloor storage of the HHR - but the aesthetics of the PT cargo cover / picnic table. Having owned the HHR for a year now - and driving my friends GT Cruiser - I think I'll keep mine (and buy hers when it comes available)

I hated the drivability of the PT. Poor turning(diving), poor braking distance and didn't like the overall comfort. I thought my PT was kind of "tinny".

funny story, kinda, a guy in the parking lot was admiring a newer z06 that parks by my ride and turns and says something about the pos pt cruiser sitting next to it, after letting him know how close to being ***** slapped he was I also informed it was a chevy not a chrysler since he couldn't get his head out of his ass long enough to read the chevrolet emblems...I guess you had to be there but it turned into a really nice car after that, lol
