6.0 LSX 2001 Z28 B4C vs HHR SS 5 Speed with 25psi
So I was thinking that it's not too bad that Im running high boost for some reason.
Last night hanging out with the AZFBA friends and I had some good runs on the freeway.
1st run: 1988 GTA TA, Auto, 383 Tuned etails: 302hp and 363.2 ftlbs at peak..
75mph to 110 mph, I had an easy pull and they couldn't catch me.
Now for the good race 3 runs.
2001 B4C Z28 with a 6.0 LSX engine with a LS6 cam, and I think a cat back, and runs 12.6's in the 1/4 mile.
1st run. 65 - 120 MPH I managed to get about 2 cars on him but we had to slow down
2nd run. 70 - 110 mph. we were side by side but once again had to slow.
3rd run. 80 - 135 mph. We were side by side till 135 and he got a half a car on me and we shut down..
It should have been video taped but I'm glad it was with / against my friends. They really wasn't thinking it was going to be that fast and neither did I. Both F Bodies were autos so that is probably another reason. Overall, it was a good night for the HHR SS with Stage tune only. I'll find more details on the Z28.

Nice!!!!! Almost considered trading my SS for a 01 Z28 this week but I have decided against it. Even though I would still come out ahead on the deal, the SS seems more streetable. If I had bought the Z28, it would have been sporting a new cam, heads, stall, and bolt ons within a week. I guess I will just have to wait to swap the turbo in the spring. Glad the SS is holding its own against modded LSX's. By the way, what type of heads was the 01 running? That LS6 cam seems like a waste with an lq9 shortblock unless they had stock heads. Most people I know that run that cam use stock LS1 or 5.3 heads. Decent cam but with good heads that cam is pretty much useless above 4500-5000 rpm. Anyways, good job and thanks for assuring me to hold on to the SS.

This is True! In the metro Detroit area, I have been seeing about 21-23 psi recently depending on the weather. I have even seen as low as 17 with the stage kit during 95 degree heat and high humidy during August. Weather plays a big factor in Psi readings on these cars. Or any LNF for that matter.
