SS playing around with a GTO 6.0

Wasn't much of a race per se....We were just kind of foolin around on an open road(in Mexico of course), and never really lined up....however, at full boost, My SS seemed a bit faster. When building boost, he seemed a bit faster. Also, I was faster from 35-80 or so, but he was faster from 75-100. Definitely surprised me! love my SS

I consistently beat my buddies 02 stang at test n tune one night. I ran 9.0-9.2 (1/8) and he ran 9.3-9.5. Those stangs aren't anything special compared to today's muscle cars....the mustang or camaro with a V6 have 300+ hp. Early 2000s ( or earlier) V8's were less horsepower than todays V6's.

Yes the 99-04 GT had only 260hp and 302tq. In 05 they added 1 intake valve and moved up to 300hp although for some reason Wikipedia is claiming 315hp (note the say bhp for the 99-04 but only say hp for the 05-10). That remained the rating until the 5.0 came back with a tad over 400hp and almost that for tq.

I think I could give em a go. Front wheel has it's advantages, especially on take off. My older 95 GT which had a 5.0 (I might add), had only 225hp and felt slower than our cars. Maybe I'm just older and slower than before.

Shame on Ford for having a nice 302 which could have put out so much more. Guess that's why I switched to Chevrolet, better looking vehicles to.
