SS vs Base Hemi Charger

Kinda funny, to me at least. Had to make a "quick" run up US-23 last Saturday morning and as it would be left lane bandits were out in full force.
Ran up on a base appearing hemi charger with Texas plates. He seemed annoyed that I was on his bumper but refused to move over when traffic cleared.

I was timing when he would accelerate and he could never shake me. Saw an opening in the right lane and took it. He accelerated to block and succeeded. But had another opportunity and left him in the dust.

I would have liked to have heard the conversation in that car when he got dusted by the "lunch box". Big bad hemi couldn't shake or hold off the little "lunch box". SS FTW, again.

Not shocking. For numbers we should beat the base charger, (my friend has one and it is no problem to beat), the RT should be easy with just a tune/stage 1, and the SRT-8 well that would need a few more mods to beat easy.

But sounds fun, :)

4 more cylinders don't make up for the added weight. I love kills like this, especially when you are telling everybody, and you know that they won't!

Not that I support or endorse what I did, it was still interesting to make it happen. I'm usually calculating weight/HP etc when driving and once in a while have to test it. Some of you know what I mean.

Be safe out there.

Like I said, would have loved to hear the conversation in that car. Guy intentionally tried to keep me behind him and left lane block. It got a little annoying. Was nice to know the SS above 7?mph accelerates similar to my STi (which would have taken out the Dodge 1st try with me behind the wheel).

There's a reason why the "Lunch Box" beat the Hemi. The bigger the vehicle, typically the slow it tends to be to accelerate. This is especially true if you have a manual HHR / SS. If you have one of those, you are more likely to win, because you have the choice of gears at your fingertips unlike an automatic.

Oh yeah we were out with friends, one Scion Toaster, My Toaster, and an STI and shockly the STI took till like 110 to pull away with a 50mph roll. The scion was a joke race between the 2 of us the one night. He has a show only car, where I am more go. lol

I have an auto SS so my gears are different but 50-100 the car goes great. Just need to work on the 0-60 times. lol
