SS vs Taurus SHO

Kinda funny to me. Had to run to GR yesterday with the wifey. Was WB on I-96 and this guy rolls up behind me as I enter the e-way in an unknown model year late model SHO. I see that he appears bothered by the cars in front of him. Hey I'm in a hurry as well. So I want to see how the lunch box will do against this SHO at highway speed.

I'm safely switching lanes and notice the SHO is as well. He attempts to run up my rear bumper so I nail it. Needless to say he was a good 10 cars behind me and kept that distance for mile or more. I had to slow due to traffic and noticed that he was exiting at the Howell exit. I slowed to confirm it was a SHO and the look on his face was priceless. Wish my wife was a "techie" as a photograph of that look would say quite a bit.

Score one for the lunch box.

saw this little write up on the new taurus sho 0-60 mph 5.2 seconds seconds

1/4 mile 13.7 s @ 103 mph The Taurus SHO's 1/4 mile time is zippy,
Lateral acceleration 0.81 g
Top speed 115 mph
Is your ss modded at all?

That's what I was wondering. The new SHO is one hell of a sleeper. It has AWD so it gets power to the ground quite nicely. I'm calling this another instance of unexpected lunchboost. I can usually get quite a lead before the person in the more powerful vehicle realizes the bread van is boosted.

Heh, I guess I coined a new term. He referred to his ride as the lunchbox. He "ate the other guy's lunch" because that guy wasn't expecting the HHR to take off like a scalded frog. Therefore, "unexpected lunchboost".

My top speed before tuning was 132mph. I'm quite sure that 115mph figure is also an electronic limit.

This had to have been a 90s model SHO. They are slower than molasses on wax paper

Seriously! Also, I don't care how many Horses it has, I'm not paying $40k for a taurus anything.
