Going to buy 08 HHR!
Hello Everyone!
I went and looked at a used 2008 orange HHR 2LT last Thursday. It's a 5 speed with the 2.4 and has 30,000kms on it. He was originally asking $10,000, but after a few months sitting online he dropped it steadily to $8000. I haggled with the man and got him down to $7600. The car was in two minor front end accidents worth a little over $2000 each as well as another $2000 as the driver's side window was smashed by a vandal. The door actually bent from the glass being shattered so a whole new driver's side door was replaced! There is a small crack in the front bumper from a parking lot hit and run, but besides that there is no other damage/rust to the car. It drove great and the interior is in awesome condition.
I shook hands with him and will hopefully be picking it up tomorrow! It is also effected by the new "ignition switch" recall, so I will have to take it in to get fixed. The HHR is a pretty sweet car and I am excited to own one!
I was wondering if you all thought this was a good deal or if you have any tips for new HHR owners. I don't have any pictures of it yet, wish me luck!

You got a good deal. I just bought an '06 with 80k in BC for $5700.00. Watched the market for awhile and the stealers are asking way too much money. Private sellers tend to sit on these cars for awhile and then drop the price until they sell.
I had the car inspected and all it needed was front brakes. It was an easy do-it-yourself job.
I bought the car for practical reasons. Resale value is relatively low, reliability history is good, it can carry lots of stuff and, for a small car, it is surprisingly comfortable. In terms of bang for your buck, I doubt if you will be disappointed.
