Batman, Glad your OK, bummer about the car... Your pretty handy with a wrench. You can save a ton of money finding the parts yourself and having them painted -off- the car yourself. Pay someone to paint them and then put 'em on. I'm going through this with my wife's Honda right now. Estimate for a trunk lid, taillight, and bumper skin was almost 3 grand. I located all the parts myself for under $500, and a paint shop will do the skin and lid for $150, then it'll cost me a saturday to install. Whatever you do good luck.... I hate driving a wrecked car myself, never the same after.

You may want to try an independent body shop too. They may be less expensive than a dealer. Paint job will more than likely look the same. If your bumper cover is not too bad, they may be able to repair it. It is surprising what can be done with some of these resin bumper covers now a days. I agree with Bart though, bumper support and brackets will need to be replaced.
My daughter just had her front bumper cover on her Caliber repaired at a local Collex Collision shop. It had a 4 inch crack in it and the repair guy said that it was repairable. Not to mention insurance would cover the repair of it, not replace it. Looks like new. Paint matches perfect as well.
Good luck!

It changed into a 17' long blue banana and didn't quite drive right anymore.
Getting in/out the passenger door sucks too.
Sucks about your car Mr. Bat
Glad your alright.

That was nice of you to not tell their insurance! We had that happen when I was 16, I had taken my mom's brand new '06 Impala (and this happened in '05, so it was really new). It was parked at a youth gathering, and when everyone was leaving a kid backed into it and put a huge dent and crack in the bumper. His parents ended up making him pay for it out of pocket so their insurance wouldn't go up. We just had the bill from the dealer sent to their house. $500 for just a new bumper cover!
