Windshield Wiper Lengths

Hello

My 2008 HHR calls for an 18" wiper blade on both Driver & Passenger sides.

I am on my second set & these blades have got to be too long. It looks like it could be 17". Does anyone else have this problem?

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

aboard Slider001!

18" is the proper length for the front wiper blades on the HHR from 2006-2011.

What sort of problems are you having exactly?

17 inch will work if you want. Smaller will always work in wipers.

The way to adjust the length of the arms is bending them at the pre-formed bend.

I tried 17" blade they were worse! Back to good old Trico's ! I strayed to those RainX blades , nothing but streaking and blade bounce!

Glad I'm not the only one who wasn't happy with the Rain-X blades, I didn't have "blade bounce" issues, my issue was their tendency to lift completely off the glass at speeds over 75 mph.

Right now, I've got Trico's on the '06, Bosch's on Paddy the '07, and Anco's on the 2011.

I tried several different blades and went back to Trico OEM.
I like the OEM's because they are not Bulky looking.

If your arm and blade holder are OK, then I would just buy the Trico Refills for you original blades.
They work great for me but I don't drive too fast as a rule. Hi way speed in this area is still 55MPH.

Part number #25892080 $5.23 ea. on GM Direct .com

Make sure you carefully clean your windshield glass after installing.

Silverfox.

Perhaps the wiper arms are reversed? i.e. left side for right side. I had a new windshield put in last year. the guy put the arms on in the reversed position, the wipers were just about touching each other.

I know on the Bosch Icon's I used, there was a part "A" for the drivers side and a part "B" for the passenger side, and both were 18". I think the mounting points were just a little different.
