Subtle pin stripes or accents?

Hi all,
Just joined and bought a sweat 09' 2-LT in Blue Flash Metalic with lots of bright chrome. Dealership said they would add a silver pinstripe if I wanted, but I'm hunting for some suggestions. Not sure I want just a straight line. Maybe a few curves or swirls or something just for some subtle accents. Not into big flames or racing stripes (although I think it's cool for those that are into them).
Would love to see some pics or ideas. Thanks!

to the forum, and congrats on your new ride!

I moved your photo into your post, that's a sharp HHR!

Not being a huge pinstripe fan myself, if it were mine, I'd go for a single silver accent stripe. That would add a little pizzaz without being too over the top.

x2 what Mike said about welcome etc..

However he is totally WRONG on the choice!!! LOL -

I kinda lean towards pin stripping - but subtle!!! I've used pin stripe tape before and it's pretty easy to apply, and it's cheap, and reasonably durable. It is also a cheap and easy way to experiment to determine where you want the stripes or even the accent stripes to go.

However real painted pin stripes are the best way to go, IMO.

Most motorcycle shops can hook you up with someone local who does good pin stripping - $100 got me some pretty nice stripping on one of my bikes.

Let us know how it goes, and post a picture of the results if you can.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the suggestions! So here's a dumb question...What's the difference between a pin strips and an accent stripe?

Welcome to the site, I went with single old school 1/8 red pin stripe to accent the red rims.

to answer your question pin stripes are thin stripes of vinyl or paint, accent stripes are wider stripes or paint or vinyl to accent panel lines or hood and trunk lids.
the yellow Camaro has an accent stripe on the front fender and door.

Very cool look Old Blue. Well yesterday I had a few minutes to shop around a bit. After visiting a custom graphics shop they came up with a great design but it was a lot more money than I was prepared to spend. I then went to the place the dealer was gonna have the pinstripe installed and they had some catologs for me to look thru. After visting the custom shop I at least had some ideas. I was just about ready to settle for a regular stripe when someone remembered they had pistripes with subtle graphics at the ends. So I've ordered this one called elegant in silver from Sharpline graphics.

Sharpline Perfect Pin Elegant Stripe Package

I'll try to post pics when installed in a few weeks. Thanks for all the help.

Have you been comparing notes with my wife again?

I mean, just because I'm banned from using power tools, climbing ladders, and attempting any "Home Improvement" project without EMS standing by.....doesn't mean I'm wrong about everything...does it?
