Welcome to the site

I'm not good aftermarket radio guy but there is tons of info on here about installing aftermarket radios. Use the search box at the top of the page and you will have lots to read.

not much to say, you need to recheck the installation according to the instructions.

Could use some more information here,

Did you get the wiring kit or just slash into the original wires to hook things up.

When I was having problems with my stock stereo I bought the wiring harness off eBay. And it went fine. Turned out my whole problem was the speakers were toast. I have them hooked up in the garage now to the Clarion stereo I had in the HHR for a while while I was figuring things out and they play just fine.

I put the stock six disk changer back in the HHR and it also works fine with the replacement speakers.

You do realize that you have to install a Metra GMOS-LAN-03 or 04 adapter (depending on amp or not) first before installing an aftermarket radio, right?
You can't just directly connect an aftermarket radio. The newer cars run the chime and blinker sounds through the stock stereo which aftermarket stereos are not equipped to do. Bought my Metro adapter off of eBay for about $90 when I put in my stereo 2 yrs ago.
