KNN has a intake tube for the SS now.

I posted the part number on here somewhere a few months back. Not sure on the gains but most dyno at 9-17 HP.

Also note KNN's new backing with dealer warranties on their web site. They now will stand behind their products if a dealer disputes the warranty.

I know where you get help get a good one produced, but no... can't post that here... How horrible of me to try to get a product developed for the HHR SS community...

Sorry the KNN is the prefix for the part numbers at work and just habit with me.

The K&N filter charger intake for a 08 is 63-3069 in the 09 K&N catalog. It is not on the web site as it may be a pending release. That means soon!

At times they will list these numbers in their catalogs as they will come out once the final testing is done with in 3-6 months. They had no dyno listing or 09 listing as I am sure these test have not been done yet. Also Carb numbers also make the California edition a little later.

Either way the part number 63-3069 is what you will want. Also if you do buy one in California before the CARB number is supplies they will send you a sticker to cover you nce it is available.

I would also expect the 09 to be soon after. This kit will be the same but needs its own approval and test fitting to make sure it will work before they will list it. THey have spotty years on H2 Hummers just due to the fact that they have not tested some years yet for fit. Unitll then they will not put it in the Catalog.

I get calls on this stuff all the time and for the most this his how K&N works.

You would not believe how much testing cost on these filters and kit just for California alone. My vendors compain all the time the added time and cost.

I spoke to the rep I deal with at KNN and as of now they do not have a set release date on this part# 63-3069.

It is coming and my estimate of 3-6 months he said is ball park. He also said they had a HHR SS in and was running test so between the part# and them running the dyno test should be a good sign it should not be longer.

As for a estimate on power increase it is too soon to tell but an average of 9-10 HP is a realistic expectation. Some cars react better than others due to poor intakes. The present 2.4 HHR gains 9 HP.

The SS intake could be decent to start with and the gain may not be a ton but on the other hand they may find something that will make it a big gain? Even the worst Chevy gain is a Cobalt at 6 HP but the best also is 22 HP in a turbo Silverado Deisel.

As soon as I see something I will post HP, Availability and Price.

I sell a lot of systems and have issues with many of them but KNN is the one I seldom have issues with.

my only issue with K&N is the oil on the filters. they ahve a real knack for over-oiling them when packaging them. my mom had to blow over $250 on a MAF sensor for her 2001 Impala because the oil from her K&N drop-in filter killed hers. many other friends o mine have had similar issues, MAFs and all sorts of things taking a crap on them due to oil from the filter.

Amazon says they have three in stock with the part number in this thread.

9.55 HP at 6500 RPM.
Just checked that Amazon article and it is not meant for the 2009 HHR. Gee, why would anyone want to see an extra 9.55 HP at red line.
