The other post above are correct. The tune is in the ECM and stays when the battery is disconnected. The temporary "keep alive" memory hold stored codes and fuel trim adjustments as well as "learned down or learned up" information. Disconnecting the battery erases all the codes and rests all the "learn parameters" to nominal

Angry Just an Update

3/31- the dealer installed the Wastegate solenoid...
4/1- called me and said it did not fix the problem asked if they could keep it.
told me I could have a loaner for "3 days"
4/3- I left for vacation anyway for 6 days so I let them keep it on the 1st and told them I would pick it up when I get back
4/9- Call from the airport before coming home told to pick it up on the 10th it will be finished
4/10- pick it... With over 200 F'in miles on it!!!
4/12- called the Service Manager was told the car was running fine the b***t gauge was not operating right... new one on order with no time frame. (again, I told it was finished on the 10th) he didn't "think" they put that many miles on it but never recorded mileage.

4/14- drop daughter at school, while on the way to work lost all power and b***t... CEL finally comes on.... got to work and called a different dealer, going in on Monday.

other dealer also told me no Wastegate replacement showed up under my VIN
(don't know if it is just departmental lag on the 1st dealers part or it was never "replaced" to begin with)

whew!!! thanks for listening

^^Wow umm, that deserves a "Super WTF" smiley..... I'm sorry to hear that you're still having these problems after they claimed to have had fixed them for you. For your own sanity I'd report that 'dealer' to your GM reps and your local BBB. Sounds like they took you (AND your SS) for a ride!

at least they refilled the gas they used. gave it back with 1/2 tank which is what I dropped it of with. could've at least filled it...

Believe they are still on the GM chopping block. I will be making a call on their behalf non the less

Luckily you got your car back in one piece. When we lived in Fort Wayne there was an owner that dropped their vehicle off at a Dodge Dealership for extended service and one of the employees decided to take the vehicle out for a night on the town with a group of friends only to get in accident. OOOPS.

Doug Chevy in Akron did mine and they did a good job. Mine was the first and I had the clearance issue so they are well aware of it now.

I got mine from Jack Maxton Chevrolet in Columbus. I'm NOT impressed with their work. I'm searching for a dealer that's more competent
