Out of curiosity how many Canadian's order their kit from the US? If you did, did you get nailed by the HST at the boarder?

Carnage - Is the $725 the "official" GM employee price or are you just getting a deal because you know a dealer employee?

FYI - I'm in East York - Red SS Auto

You'll find a big difference in employee discount on GM parts from one dealer to the next.

The dealer I spoke with wanted just over $900 cdn (kit/parts only), including the discount.

That said, $725 cdn is a good deal up here...

Ordering from Crate Engine Depot in the US, plus shipping, then the exchange rate... you're looking at about $730 cdn when it's all done.

Pickering here with a Red 09 Stick Panel, waiting for the release of the 09 kit and will be placing my order. Employee Pricing not an option for me.

Crateengines price is $550US for the part and $35US for the shipping. Current exchange takes that to $757.

More then likely you'll get nailed by the HST though at the border bringing it up to the $867, which is pretty close to what im paying for dealer cost after taxes, $862 (it was $750 not $725 )

My only reason for possibly ordering from CrateEngineDepot is the new delivery date for the 08 kit (been bumped back to April 2nd), I figure ive been waiting since late January and if i get it now ill end up roasting off my snow tires :)

Just recieved a quote from my Canadian deailer - $1375+tax installed. This is (supposedly) GM pricing with 5 hours (!) for the install.

Yes Cpt, it is ridiculous. although my dealership took 5 hrs, it was the 1st they did. I did get a discount because of it, but I presume it will take much less time with the learning curve. We should not have to pay for the training of the techs when it is GM's responsibility to train them. I believe that the install time is 2 hrs on the HHR SS. 1.2 hrs for the other 2 models( Sky and Solstice).
