Any Canadian owners have stage 1 kit?
Mine's going in Monday. The place has never done one, but they are a FANTASTIC dealer. I've given them all the DOC ID's and info that was so awesomely posted in this forum, so hopefully they go into it with their eyes open.
been waiting for your next post. How did they make out with your install? I`ve had the kit for months now but I have been waiting to see cost that local dealers are charging. How many hours did they charge?
Well, I have my car back. Sorry for the delay in response, I've been out playing
The experience went... flawlessly.
WOW. I have to re-learn how to drive this car. It's a whole new beast now (and I MEAN "beast). I have to be careful not to burn the tires off of it now, the low end torque is INSANE.
This is how it went for me:
Last week, I called and spoke to the service manager. I gave him the stage kit part number, and waited for him to look it up in his system. I told him about how the default install instructions aren't correct for the HHR (they show the Solstice GXP powertrain) and gave them the DOC ID's posted on this board to that regard. I told him that the instructions stated a 1-2 hour average install time. He saw the same thing in his system, and he quoted the 2 hours, as this would be their first install. I said that was absolutely fair.
This am I dropped it off. I asked to speak to the tech doing the install. I spoke to him about the same things I mentioned to the service manager, and gave him a printed copy of all the docs and info I had accumulated on this forum. He thanked me for doing the "leg work" for him, and I left.
I picked it up this afternoon, and paid for my 2 hour charge.
Yep, they charged the 2 hours quoted. $180.00 plus taxes, for a $203.40 final bill.
Service manager's name is Jamie, Service Advisor on duty was Jason, and the install tech's name was Rick.
To sum it up:
Another incredible experience with this dealership. They've consistently bent over backwards to make me happy - from sales to service to special things like this. I cannot imagine how any dealership could outshine this one.
Kudos to them. Undoubtedly I will continue to use them for all my service needs, and when the time comes to buy my next vehicle, they will be my first stop.
