BSR PPE or Stage one GM
BSR PPE or Stage one GM
Found this plug in tuner from BSR, seems to have a higher HP change than the GM stage 1. Torbo Tech and Hahn is selling them now, The price is higher than the GM unit even with install costs, but the claims are higher than GM. Opinions?

I am confused. What specs does this tuner get your car to?
Gm's kit puts the car at:
•290HP @ 5,200 RPM
•315 lb,-ft of torque @ 4,800
Are you saying this kit goes from 260 + "Average power increase: 41Hp" to 301? So 11 more then the GM kit?
Really to me 11hp is not worth voiding my warentee, plus HP tuners or a Trifecta tune (one of the vendors on here) is cheaper and from what I have read Trifecta tunes are 300+hp as well and would be much cheaper then $995.

GM kit is covered under warranty & gives you needed sensors.
BSR hand held tuner...... is just flash tune & sucks.
get the GM stage one, if you want more power.... add bolt ons.... still want more power.... get a custom HPTuners tune. i see you're in CT, i can recommend some tuners/shops in your area if you'd like.

We have friends with SS HHR's that have done the GM Stage install and others the Trifecta Tune! From what we've been told the Trifecta was painless to install and has almost the same final dyno numbers at around $300.00!

Avoid BSR. They have been out for 3 years with no additional tunes, or product support. If your gonna tune over the GMTU. then try a trifecta tune. a bunch of the forum members have been really happy with this additional tune
i say stay FAR away from the gm tune. i never thought about getting it. i read about more people having trouble out of that tune than anything. trifecta is the way to go. however, the more upgrades u have, the better the trifecta will be. if you upgrade your clutch, you can get a really strong trifecta tune.
