gcsd will post up the info., but the tunes are practically neck and neck. i dynoed 261(best) and eric(gcsd) 265(best). he got 265 when his tuner added two degrees of timing. his prior best was 264.

on the way home we did a little hwy. pull...dead even then we hit traffic. good numbers for otherwise stock cars. i'll let gcsd start his own thread or add to this one.

I'd be happy with those numbers since I'm still totally stock. But... I've seen stock dynos in the 245-250hp range, so the gains seem a bit lower than I'd expected.

And what's the increase in torque?

keep in mind also the conditions were not favorable. the cars were facing a wall with a fan . it was hot in the bay as well. with cooler temps.,270 for sure on both cars.

IMHO, For all the dyno runs I have seen, the lack of airflow through the intercooler (no way a non-ducted, low pressure fan simulates real world) is a potentially significant issue. Regarding peak horsepower, I think what folks may be missing is that with the limitation of the stock turbo, the peak hp numbers may not be huge, but how early it makes hp and mega torque is VERY impressive, and anyone who has driven an SS with the tune, knows exactly what I am talking about. The thrust available at about 3500 rpm is incredible.

this is a good point. try not to pay too much attention to the numbers. the most i was expecting was 273ish(we all had a bet lol). that's why i like to go from 20mph or less. all the power comes on really quick and gets you out there. can't wait to see how the car reacts with the ic and piping.

We'll do it again this winter and see what it does...My only thing is that I had my tuner there @ Strictly Performance using the H/P Tuners program and he did all the tuning himself if he can tune his (6.8L) 414 cu. in. motor and make it run 9.90's in the 1/4 mile he can tune mine as well. Flaco knows his stuff

I would have liked to see before and after for both tunes at an independent dyno.

All Dynos are different so the numers don't mean much except the 2 cars are close.

With that said my car made that with exhaust and DP corrected. (250 stock)

If my car only picked up 12hp peak with a 1K tune I would want my $$ back quick.

On a side note...The cars actually seem to make more power stock when the temp is higher (200+ saw a 2-3lb boost increase)

I agree on the $1k purchase but some people like the hand held tuner they feel like its a security blanket that they can tune an un-tune when they want to...up to each individual though... I am enjoying my car so far...we''ll see where it goes form here
