Question can i put a 2.0 in my LS 2.2 ?

im really wondering if i find a 2.0 motor from an ss. can i fit it in my 07 Ls. im talking about EVERYTHING from that ss. well the whole frontend of parts.

in about a year im going to have a second car and ill have the hhr to play around in and put alot of money in to .

i have an auto Ls btw.

so it makes me wonder also if id have to change alot in the inside also . like add the clutch and shifter . thats if it would fit in my car

You might be better off just getting a SS than trying to complete a motor swap these days. What happens when you need something like an ECM flash?? Think the dealer is going to be willing to do a 2.0 flash on a car that came with a 2.2 or a 2.4? Think he's even going to know how to decide what flashes might apply? If it were me I'd sell the car and buy an SS.

Not worth the trouble especially if you want to convert to manual. You could make more power with you're 2.2 if you have the $$$.

hmmm if i stayed with my 2.2 then id wanna TRY to put a manual instead of having an auto trans in it . the auto is kinda ... annoying you can say . as long as i can get a short shifter also lol

i dont like the ss styling is cool and all . i just like the look of my LS better . so thats why i was asking if i can put a 2.0 in it .

but if i did sell my hhr to get an ss . id probley switch the front clip and rear bumper .

i know it would be something that people on here would say "WHY T F. would you want to do that "

Same thing. Buy the car you want, trying to change to a manual transmission is going to be a bunch of work and possible future headaches.

why not buy a panel ls or lt w/ a manual and then do upgrades to the engine or swap to the 2.0? Then you have the manual trans.

You would have a problem with the intercooler if you didn't change the front bumper.
