Cold air intake for SS
Hey I have a cold air intake question. I have a 2010 HHR SS and am looking at this kit http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=63-3069
K&N does not list it for the 2010 model. I sent them an email and they say they have not fit it for this model so cannot guarantee that it will fit/work. Does anyone have any experience with this kit in a 2010? Also, I was wondering if you have to use the K&N lid or if you can stick with the stock one. The stock one looks cooler.

It was posted that you can get the k&n pipe only, buy the drop in filter, and leave the stock lid on and it would be the same thing as the $300 k&n kit for more like less than 150 shipped.
Oh, I failed to mention, that once I put the bigger scoop on, I'm designing up a 90 degree elbow, with a rubber lip that mates up with the hood scoop cutout,[60's cold air package], and plumbs into the stock[modded airbox] with a baffle and drain[for rainy days]. Yes, I have drawings made up.
I'm sure I'll get plenty of cool air into the airbox with this setup.
and just for you rocket scientist, when you plum in cool air into the airbox, hence turbo, it WILL give you more H.P.[if it does'nt throw a code].
I'll find out soon enough. I don't think anyone is going to step up to the plate on a CAI for a stock SS. "Moon"

Any update, Been a while.
Hey bro , I'm just saying , You can snake and sneak air from fenders and fog light openings, but your still cheating true cold air because of the friction factor. = heat.
Ram the true cold air down the intakes throat. IMO
how many SS' are geting 18 psi with no mods, None.
i was hitting 15 max prior to the ram setup.
once i get a street tune and exhaust , i think it will beat 99% of ss' that are packed with funds.
no pissing match here bro, just voiceing an opinon.
And most opinions don't mean sh-t.

We need to run when you get your stuff done
Have you guys seen what CIA has posted on their website in regards to their CAI? If you do a little snooping you can see their Guinnea Pig. I like what they are doing, but at the same time I don't want to have to remove the qtr. panel to change the filter.
I am really supprised that no-one has just tried enlarging the existing holes, and putting a hard tube in the flex tubes place and then just upgrade the filter. Any Ideas about this?
