For fellow Canadians:

FWIW, I called the dealer I bought my SS from in the Spring, and said it would cost $910cdn+ tax+install, and he was giving me a deal as I bought the car there.

10 days shipping to get from the US.

I guess if its going to be $750US list, $160 for the Canadian preimum is reasonable (as in, what we're used to, not the fact that it really shouldn't cost much more then the exchange rate) given the exchange rate.

$35 shipping to Canada from Crateenginedepot brings it to $585+current exchange= $710 Canadian+tax...difference is $200.

If I buy the stage kit from CrateEnginedepot will it still be covered under the warranty if I have it installed at my local dealer, or do I have to purchase the part from the dealership that installs it to get the warranty?

YES your warranty will still be kept. crate engine depot works directly with GM. If you have further questions feel free to call Tom at (847) 752-6177. He runs the website. The the site is based out of Rochenbach Chevrolet in Grays Lake IL

My first post but it is a goodie. I was at the dealer for my 3000 mile checkup and asked about this today. Parts guys didn’t know anything about it until i showed him this website and gave him the part number.

Long story short, my dealer (Steve Moore Chev in Charlotte, NC) just quoted me $575.50 installed. His cost was $537.00 (I saw the screen in the parts dept)

However he did specifically say that I would be in possession of the TecII after the install and I quote, "If you are in a car club or something, you could use the tuner on other cars as well".

Ill take his comment with a bit of skepticism, also said it would be about 15 days for delivery. (Santa's Sled i guess)
