Any documentation that mentions that "1 hour" estimated install time?

It doesn't matter. GM can only suggest, dealers are privately owned businesses that can sell parts and labor at any price they choose to. Only thing GM can control is warranty labor and parts.

Understood... just if there's a doc from "corporate" that recommends... it'd be helpful when the local privately owned business tells me 4 hours, I can ask them how they justify that based on the GM recommendation. If they can convince me, then I'm in. If not, I go elsewhere... much like a Mitchell Manual does. It "suggests" nn hours for a given task. If the dealer wants to charge 2x the hours, that's their choice. If I want not to be a part of that, that's my choice.

If you can get the parts person to print their screen, that is where the labor shows, next to the part number.

Also just about every dealer has an accessory web page now. You can go to it and choose 2008, Chevrolet, SS and from there go to performance. There may be an installed price there under the price of the part. I just checked our website though and it only has the price of the kit not the install price.

Personally I think 2 hrs is a fair price to pay. If I could get away with 3-4 that would be great. But like I said. 2hrs is fair. 1 hour is far from correct. After installing 2 kits already, 2 hours.

I'm not trying to bilk anyone... so if 2 hours is more realistic, that's fine too. I just wanted something tangible I could point to on the subject. I just don't want them quoting me like the new car salesman trying to hawk me his $9 pinstripe tape with 5 minute installation for "299.95" on the add-a-tag.

Thanks to both turbotech and ChevyMgr.

Side note: I used to do hand-painted pin stripes for a living. I had 50+ dealerships in DFW as regular customers. I never did any tape stripes, so I may be way off on the cost of the tape. I doubt it, however.

Has anyone posted the instructions that come with the kit?
