Glad to see you got the upgrade! Yup, I'm from Waterbury and on Saturdays in the summer you can find me up at the Pike (Berlin Tpke) by the BK'S next to Bob's. I've surprised quite a few folks when they've pulled up and tried to rev their motors at me lol. Well except that C6 Vette on 691 but the driver was cool as hell; up my way you get the usual: the Hondas, VW's exc. Quite a few have seen my rear bumper though! You should try to come up to that cruise in New Hampshire tomorrow! Check out the New England section for details.

Did a dyno test today, and here are the figures for the Stage 1 on my car.

Advertised stats for the HHR SS with Stage 1 is 290HP, 315 Torque

Best pull on the dyno today was:

274.13 WHP
280.90 Torque

Peak engine performance was at 5500 rpms
It really drops off after 5700 rpms.
94 octane gas

So... guys at the shop said HP loss due to standard transmission was 10-12%, but weren't sure about FWD losses.
I read an online article about FWD losing about an average of 15% through the transmission.
If this is the case... 315HP!
At 12% loss, we're still talking 307HP.
More than advertised anyways! I can't complain.

Hello, Jerry's (Durant) in Weatherford charges 2.0 hours @ $95/hr. plus $10 consumables. Not the cheapest, but guarenteed GM work. Actually made the car much more driveable and peppier around town. Never been over 4000 RPM, but it has more than enough torque to pass anything with reason. Mine was the only one they've done so far.

From my understanding the F35 trans is rated at a maximum of 320 ft. pounds of torque, hence the GMPP kit's rating of 315 ft. pounds. That's why the same kit in a Solstice with separate trans/differential will make 340 ft. lbs. The HHR is transmission limited and if you drive hard on a kit that makes more than 320 ft. lbs. of torque you will ultimately have trans/clutch issues, I believe.

Question Dealers in Detroit Area for Installation

Where would you recommend having the kit installed in the Detroit area? I bought my car at Moran about a month ago. Love the car, but I have no experience with Moran service.

I usually do my own work on my cars, but I don't want to botch up the warranty on this one.

Any advice would be helpful.

Rodgers Chevy... talk to Mike in Service. He's the service writter. Tell him I sent you. (Chris with the 10 silver SS)
http://www.rodgerschevrolet.com

He did it on my SS and he's the best service writter I have ever dealt with.

Moran does not install the upgrade, at least they didn't back in 09.

Sounds like you are close to Buff Whelan, 18 & Van Dyke, I would go here for the install.
