Is your turbo upgrade kit the crate engine depot or did your dealer cut and splice into your harness.
Either way my guess is in the wiring.

Actually, I just now got a call from the dealer service guy who says they believe the problem is solved. I don't have the details yet, but, apparently, there was a rubber hose in the turbo system somewhere that was loose, and, according to the technician, that leak would have caused the the VERY reduced boost at times and no more than ~20 lbs boost other times, and total loss of boost when car/engine movement might have caused the hose to pull away from the pipe. Anyway, the service guy says I have the ~25 lbs GMTU boost I've been searching for....finally. Hope this is the permanent fix.

Make double sure that the tech knows to remove the plastic tab from the new Bosch lower T-map sensor. Better make that triple sure.
I've heard of more than one case where the tech either forgot or didn't know to do this. It will run like crap if the T-map o-ring isn't seated right. The HowTo on this will be right in the instructions.
If you have the plug in harness', then the rest of the install is pretty much(should be) foolproof for the dealer.

X2
They missed the part about grinding the edge of the map sensor on mine as well.
I could even see the oring oddly it ran OK though.
had them fix it.
Also if you look back in these posts you will see where a bracket was made to hold the lower cac pipe away from the engine. I brought a picture in and they made one for me during the install.

It to me acts like an on/off switch if that makes sense. try it..
Anyone else experienced this with the gmtu Turbo upgrade.
Sometimes mine will only boost to say 16.
then most times it will boost to 21 plus.
Almost like you have to wake it up.
I thought mine was not doing that anymore but it still does it as FOOLMOON wrote about above

Big time. I plan to have a talk with the tech to make sure all the trouble spots of the install are known before he or she starts. And yes I saw that pic with the bracket I already printed it out so I'll be showing that to the tech as well. According to crate the kit I ordered does come with the plug harnesses so we shall see. I believe someone else posted on here that he got a kit with the plug harnesses and the dealer STILL cut into the original harness and didn't even use the new ones. So yes you guys are right I'll make extra sure this tech knows what's up. Ive heard too many horror stories to not make extra sure

Hi Bill.
I am glad that on the forum operates a professional engineer - an expert on motors.

I ask the question, but I apologize in advance if the subject has been discussed. I find it hard to read all the posts attentively, English for me - not the native language.

And so:
I have the HHR LT 2.4 2006. I would like to increase power through the turbine. At the forum one guy did it, but he used the supercharger from the Cobalt 2.4. A bold experiment, but I do not want to repeat it. I looking a turbine which is driven by exhaust gases. On Ebay I see the universal kit, but I'm not sure they are suitable for my vehicle. What kind of turbo kit you recommend? Is there a on sale?
