Or from ebay for $385.00, my shipping was $13.00. Had it installed yesterday at my dealer and it is the new version gmpp kit. kelmanoptimized is the ebay seller name, he throws the gmpp kit up there from time to time, currently none are on his ebay selling page (might want to send him a message and ask if he has anymore).

DFW dealer search

I bought my 09 SS from Classic Chevy in Grapvine Texas ( DFW) area and all there MX reps are pretty clueless about the stage 1 upgrade. Does anybody know any DFW dealers with experince at stage 1.Thanks still shopping around for parts.
It's a shame that the fun factor is already wearing down I need some more POWER.

Just got GM Turbo Upgrade installed in So. Cali.

Hello all,

Special thanks to Dennis on this Forum for all his help thus far!!

Just got my upgrade kit installed yesterday at Rydell Chevy in Van Nuys, Ca. on Van Nuys Blvd.

I paid $445.00 for the kit from the dealer I bought my car from (San Juan Capistrano), and the install location, which is 15 min. from my house charged $225.00 (they wanted $250, but I asked for a break). Joe is the Service Manager, and Dan is the man for the install...even soldered all the connections!

Wanted the Manual, but couldn't find one in my area and the Cash for Clunkers Program was almost out...so Auto it is, but DAMN...The upgrade rocks!!! Haven't had to use both hands on the wheel since I was a kid

Anyone know who makes a great Black running board for our SS's?

Also, who makes a nice quality stubby antenna?

Thank You and Best Regards - Mr.e

Hello NRH,

I just had my Stage 1 kit installed by Stonebriar Cheverolet...they have installed a total of 4 including mine. Cost runs around $255 for the install plus $25 for some sort of disposal fee. Do plan to leave the car as with their schedule and all it takes a while.

Cheers

Thanks, does it run great, is it really worth the cash? Did they mention anything about the warranty? I keep hearing different things. Thanks again

Yes, to me it is worth the cash. I have an automatic and drastic change in my acceleration from stand still as well as when I am cruising at 70+ and press the accelerator it picks up speed a lot faster. Yes, the factory warranty is fully honored.

Well, the other day the turbo quit working entirely and I get the check engine light. I took it to the dealer closest to my house (not the one that installed the kit). They are stumped. They are telling me that the code is for the MAFS, and in runs fine when the sensor is unpluged. Plug it in and the turbo stops. They put in a new MAFS - same problem. So I get a call yesterday after they called GM. The service guy tells me that GM wants him to remove all "aftermarket parts". *$&%#&*@! What should I do? Just pick it up and take it back to the installing dealer? I'm not sure they would be any better. I'm sure GM doesn't want them taking my stage 1 sensors off. They just don't know anything about the kit at the dealer. I have installed nothing else.

-edit

The "aftermarket parts" being referred to was my alarm system. I don't see how that would affect anything unless I had a no start problem. Anyone have any insight? The service tech a the dealer I purchased the car from suggested the possibility that the new MAFS is defective.

Do you mean MAP sensors or do you mean MAF Mass Air Flow. What is the code setting. Have them check the TMAP wiring in the Intercooler to Throttle Body pipe. Make sure it has not rubbed through one of the wires. Depending on the install length the wires can rub on the A/C line and chafe through. The result cam be no boost and no code. The lower wires should be protected by a piece of convoluted wire cover/protector.

Let me know what they find.
