Got it done at Barton in Newburgh, New York today.
It blew off a hose clamp at 15+ PSI
I replaced it and it's going to get me in trouble if I'm not careful.
100% worth the $200 install + the $485 off Epay.

I've been up since 9AM yesterday and drove about 650 miles today.
I'll post a better review when I'm not dry toast.

In case Newburgh, NY sounds familiar, this lil ol place is a mile from Barton Chevrolet...

You mean the "I keep popping hose clamps off @ 20+PSI club"

The weird thing is it will still build boost with the hose clamp gone.
It's such a good fit, it'll build but won't hold it.
I popped another off today.
I nursed it home down the highway and yes I know that if you build boost with a bad leak it'll spool out of control and die a sad, ugly, premature death.
I'll replace it now that it's cooled.
It's the damn lower one, it looks like a ***** to get at.
I'll have to take it back to the highway and test it after I fix it

CrazySteve says that since it's not blowing clamps off (it's not) it is building too much boost too quickly for the 'puter to figure it out.
It will boost 24PSI from a start until I chicken out.
About 115MPH around here.
BUT...
If I'm in traffic and floor it, it builds to 15 or 24PSI too quickly and brainfarts to 0PSI.
I have to quickly let off the gas then floor it again to finish whatever I was doing (usually passing, going up a hill, with traffic coming and just enough room to make it).
It's kind of too exciting sometimes
I hope GM figures out a fix and releases Stage kit 1.5 or something.

If you kept on heading west for a few miles on 17K, then hang a right on Stone Castle Road in Rock Hill, you'd see the original shop on the left about a mile down Stone Castle. It still has the Orange County Iron Works logo, which was similar to the OCC one.
PS - Barton did my upgrade also.

Has anybody from California had the upgrade installed by a California dealier?

After reading the CARB executive Order of D-126-25, I'm still not sure if I can have this mod done and not have to deal with hassles come Smog Cert Time.

Any California owners out there that have had this done?

Rick

It is legal in California and there is an EO sticker in the kit for you. I know it is legal because another HHR SS had it and wrecked, had to get e new hood and lost the sticker in the crash. Worked with CED and got him a new sticker so he could pass his inspection.

Has anyone in Hawaii got the upgrade kit installed? If so, which dealer did you go to. I was quoted by one dealer $910 for the price of the kit ONLY. I thought this was rediculous.

It is especially when the MSRP is $650. Buy it from Crate Engine Depot and you can have it to your door for $562 or there abouts.
